"As the twenty-first century unfolds, Nanotechnology's impact on the health, wealth, and security of the world's people is expected to be at least as significant as the combined influences in this century of antibiotics, the integrated circuit, and human-made polymers."

Upcoming Events:

Summer Internship Program
The deadline for the High School Program is April 14, 2006 and the deadline for the Undergraduate Program is March 31, 2006.

ASM Teachers' Materials Camp
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of NJ, the Princeton Institute for the Science and Technology of Materials at Princeton University, and ASM International (The Materials Information Society) are presenting a free week long, hands-on laboratory experience to assist teachers to use materials science and engineering techniques in their classroom. NJ teachers receive 30 continuing education hours for their participation! The program will run August 7-11 of 2006.

In response to the importance of the Nanotechnology field to the future growth of a broad array of high-technology industries in New Jersey, Rutgers University and The State of New Jersey Commission on Higher Education are committed to providing undergraduate engineering students the skills and knowledge to be effective researchers and employees.  To meet this goal, the Department of Ceramic and Materials Engineering (in cooperation with the Physics, Chemistry, and other engineering disciplines at Rutgers University) is leading the development of an undergraduate curriculum in nanomaterials science and engineering.

This website is intended to be an introduction to the courses offered and the other goals of the NJ CHE Workforce Development grant program.
