CONGRATULATIONS TO PROF. RICHARD E. RIMANThe Rutgers University Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Research was presented to Prof. Riman at a reception at President Richard McCormick’s house on May 6, 2009.
NEW ENERGY RESEARCH CENTERFaculty from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering will lead a multiple university national laboratory research thrust within a new $17M US DOE Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) announced by the White House. This multi-university and national lab EFRC entitled, Northeastern Chemical Energy Storage Center, is led by SUNY Stony Brook. Rutgers faculty are associate directors of the new center and will perform innovative research on advanced battery technologies using molecular simulations, advanced characterization techniques, and materials processing of energy storage systems, some of which were recently developed at Rutgers. Professors Amatucci, Cosandey, and Garofalini will all participate in this important effort.
